Localizado na Rua do Hero\u00edsmo 215, o restaurante destaca-se n\u00e3o apenas pela qualidade dos seus pratos, mas tamb\u00e9m pelo ambiente acolhedor e repleto de mem\u00f3rias. Ao entrar, o cliente depara-se com um balc\u00e3o comprido e uma cozinha \u00e0 vista, o que permite observar a prepara\u00e7\u00e3o cuidadosa dos pratos. A sala aconchegante \u00e9 banhada por luz natural, com lambris e pain\u00e9is de azulejos que adicionam um toque de tradi\u00e7\u00e3o ao espa\u00e7o. Os quadros nas paredes completam o cen\u00e1rio, enquanto a garrafeira e os dois fornos a lenha, uma raridade na cidade, prometem uma experi\u00eancia culin\u00e1ria aut\u00eantica. Os objetos que decoram o restaurante n\u00e3o s\u00e3o apenas elementos de decora\u00e7\u00e3o, mas guardi\u00f5es de mil e uma mem\u00f3rias, sendo que cada um deles conta uma parte da hist\u00f3ria deste espa\u00e7o. No que \u00e0 ementa diz respeito, A Cozinha do Manel oferece uma carta rica e variada, com quatro pratos que s\u00e3o verdadeiros \u00edcones: cabrito, vitela, tripas e arroz de pato. Mas a experi\u00eancia come\u00e7a nas entradas, onde se destacam a alheira de ca\u00e7a, a morcela, o presunto \u201cpata negra\u201d, o queijo de Serpa amanteigado, os bolinhos de bacalhau e o folhado de perdiz (quando dispon\u00edvel, j\u00e1 que a casa privilegia produtos da \u00e9poca). Sem esquecer o p\u00e3o caseiro que \u00e9 verdadeiramente delicioso. Para pratos principais, h\u00e1 op\u00e7\u00f5es que nunca saem da ementa, como o bacalhau, preparado de diversas formas (assado, \u00e0 Gomes de S\u00e1, entre outros), os filetes de pescada ou de polvo e a vitela assada no forno a lenha. A garrafeira do restaurante \u00e9 igualmente impressionante, com vinhos da casa provenientes do Douro, servidos a copo.
